SAU Tech Student Earns Internships

SAU Tech Student Awarded Internship with Noalmark Broadcasting & Software Company

Moniqua Brown has been selected to participate in an upcoming eight-week long paid internship with Noalmark Broadcasting Corporation in El Dorado, Arkansas.

Brown is currently a student at SAU Tech and works as a student worker for the Academics department on campus. She is also interning this summer with the Jenzabar Internship Program where she will work in an office on the SAU Tech campus that uses Jenzabar solution software. Brown will attend the national Jenzabar conference as part of her internship in summer 2020.

Her internship with Noalmark Broadcasting is under the supervision of Patrick Nolan, the general manager of the El Dorado station. Noalmark has radio stations in Arkansas and New Mexico, and some of their well-known stations in Arkansas include Rock 93-The Eagle, BIG 96.1, and KIX 103. At her internship, Brown will have the opportunity to work in each department at the radio station to learn how they all contribute to the overall operation of the station. She will communicate with the station’s visitors at the business office, learn programming for on-air procedures, practice producing commercials, work in sales, and learn news/public service strategies.

SAU Tech students are required to obtain internships during this last year of study in SAU Tech’s Associate of Applied Science (technical) programs. The real-world experience is vital to the students’ ability to go to work upon graduation. Brown’s internship is unique at Noalmark in that she will receive compensation for her time there.
