SAU Tech Students Get Ready for Rocket Day
This year will mark the third year that the SAU Tech Scholars have planned SAU Tech’s Rocket Day event. The event is for special needs children from the surrounding public schools. The first year the event was held, over 150 students came to the event accompanied by parents, teachers, and caregivers. SAU Tech’s staff, students, and other volunteers help with the event, which includes games, lunch, and lots of fun all catered to meet the needs of the children attending. The attendance at this year’s event is expected to be well over 200. Dr. Jason Morrison, SAU Tech Chancellor, said that “the event is a great opportunity to provide interaction and fun that is rarely provided in the day to day routine of these students. Rocket Day is a blessing to the students as well as all the volunteers working the event.” This year’s event is on November 19 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
