Pastor Eddie R. Moore is May's Betty J. Lewis Unsung Hero!

Pastor Moore is the second of five boys born to Eddie Sr and Ida Bea Moore, of Camden Arkansas. He attended the Camden public school system where he held many positions and was presented with many; honors graduating in the year of 1971.
At an early age, he loved sports and accomplished many things in baseball and basketball. As a 10th grader, he was a starter for Lincoln high School, who won the 1969 4AA basketball state championship.
After high school, He joined the United States Air Force for 4 years, achieving the rank of Sergeant. During this time, he returned home and married his high school sweetheart and classmate; Erma Hutton, and have been married for over 51 years.
Pastor Moore has seven adult children, and a host of grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He's the former founder and president of Brothers United men's club; a Civic organization for over 13 years.
He served for over 35 years on the Camden and Camden Fairview School boards. He was president of the school board for many years.
Pastor Moore preached his first official sermon in 1992, while attending Jackson Theological Seminary: and have since served as pastor at several stations. Pastor also enjoys visiting Silver Oaks nursing home to teach Bible study, on the second and fourth Saturday of each month.
He was the former pastor at St James AME Church, Eagle Mills: Macedonia AME Church, Camden: Free hope AME Church, Strong: Greater Lee chapel AME Church, El Dorado: and presently pastor of New beginnings family ministries, El Dorado.
During this time, he was employed by international paper company, in the maintenance department, for over 30 years; afterwards working for SAU tech for 2 years.
He now spends his time working around his home and church building, fishing, playing golf, and traveling with his wife. He also enjoys spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren: while spreading the word of God everywhere he goes. One of his favorite scriptures is Matthew 6:33.
