Industry Leaders Meet with College Chancellor

Industry Leaders Meet to Discuss Workforce Needs

Dr. Jason Morrison, SAU Tech Chancellor, met with industry leaders on Wednesday, November 6, at 7:30 am to share breakfast and connect with industry leaders on workforce training. The meeting was an effort to keep communication lines open between the parties as to the needs of the local industries as it relates to employee skill sets and for the College to share new training options and listen to industry requests.

Industry leaders in attendance were Erik Perrin, General Dynamics, Jackie Brian, Armtec; Dwight Futrell, Spectra Technologies; Doug Germann, Raytheon; Justin Routon, Lockheed Martin; Bob Daidone, Aerojet Rocketdyne; Pat Foster, American Rheinmetall Munitions.
SAU Tech's Workforce Staff, Randy Harper, Karmen House, and Bryant Redford were present along with Barbara Hamilton, SAU Tech's Director of Adult Education. Tracy Payne with B&M Painting and Faith Elliott with Amfuel in Magnolia were unable to attend. Dr. Morrison is planning to host the industry breakfast again in the spring semester.

SAU Tech has a long history of providing workforce training and was created to fulfill that role over 50 years ago. Today, workforce training is still a significant part of the mission of the College.
