Basketball Coach
Southern Arkansas University Tech is seeking a dynamic, learning-centered, student-oriented individual to be the inaugural head coach for men and women’s basketball.
Coaches should have coaching experience preferably as a head coach with responsibilities in practice preparation, game strategies, recruitment, fundraising, athletic budgets, planning, and NJCAA rules and procedures. Those with experience in athlete recruitment, fund raising and budgeting will be given preference.
This is a full-time ten month coaching appointment which is renewable annually based upon satisfactory job performance. Adjunct and summer teaching opportunities are usually available for additional compensation. The college provides a competitive benefits package including health insurance and retirement.
Qualifications: This position requires a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred or wiliness to pursue a master’s degree. Coaching experience required, preferably at the collegiate level and effective public and interpersonal communication skills are required. A commitment to the role of the community college is a must.
