SAU Tech Provides Update Following Student Evacuation

Student safety remains a top priority at Southern Arkansas University Tech (SAU Tech). Following an incident last night, the college took precautionary measures by moving students to a safe location while the situation was addressed.

"Safety is a priority at SAU Tech, and last night we didn't want to take any chances, so we move dour students to a safe location," stated Dr. Jerry Thomas, Chancellor of SAU Tech.

Camden Fairview School District Supports SAU Tech Students

During the evacuation, SAU Tech received immediate support from the Camden Fairview School District, which generously opened its high school gym to provide a safe location for SAU Tech students.

The college is grateful to the school district for its quick response and willingness to assist students during the situation.

SAU Tech also extends its appreciation to community members who showed care and concern by providing water and snacks to students during the evacuation. The support from local partners and community members helped provide comfort and reassurance during an unexpected situation.

SAU Tech Campus Operations Continued as Scheduled

SAU Tech will continue monitoring the situation and will provide additional updates if necessary. At this time, all classes and campus operation are proceeding as scheduled.

The college appreciates the patience, understanding and support of its students, families, employees and community partners.
