Student Orientation and Registration at SAU Tech

Your Launchpad to College Success

Welcome to SAU Tech! We are thrilled to have you join our Rocket family. The Student Orientation and Registration (SOAR) program is the first step in making sure you have everything you need to succeed. Orientation is more than just a checklist — it’s your introduction to college life, campus support, and the SAU Tech community.

Every new student is required to attend a SOAR session before starting classes. These in-person orientation days are designed to walk you through everything, from registering for classes to getting your student ID and meeting your future classmates.

What Is SOAR?

Student Orientation and Registration

SOAR (Student Orientation and Registration) is a required orientation session for all new SAU Tech students, including recent high school graduates, transfer students, adult learners, and student-athletes. Through SOAR, you’ll take care of essential enrollment tasks, meet the people who will support your journey, and gain a clearer picture of what life at SAU Tech is all about.

SOAR is more than just a checklist, it’s your introduction to life at SAU Tech. Attending orientation ensures you’re ready to start the semester with:

  • A finalized class schedule and academic plan
  • A clear understanding of financial aid, scholarships, and how to manage tuition payments
  • A personalized campus tour showing you where your classes will be
  • Your SAU Tech student ID and parking permit
  • A chance to meet instructors, advisors, and other new students
  • Insights into student services like tutoring, disability support, career advising, and mental health resources
  • Information about clubs, athletics, and student housing

What Should I Bring?

To make the most of your SOAR appointment, we recommend bringing the following:

  • Photo ID
  • Copies of immunization records (2 MMRs)
  • Final high school or GED transcript
  • Any college transcripts, if you are a transfer student
  • ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer test scores
