This comprehensive program provides a balanced mix of theory and hands-on application to ensure you're ready to install, troubleshoot, and repair systems in residential and light commercial settings.

What You’ll Learn HVAC Program

SAU Tech’s HVAC-R curriculum emphasizes safety, efficiency, and technical proficiency using industry standard equipment.

Core instruction includes:

  • Installation and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting HVAC components
  • Electrical systems related to heating and cooling units

All students must take and pass:

  • EPA Section 608 Certification Exam – Required for handling refrigerants; students will earn a Universal License upon passing with a score of 70% or higher
  • HVAC Excellence Employment Ready (ER) Exams in:
  • Electrical
  • Air Conditioning
  • Heat Pumps
