What is Rocket High?

Rocket High is a dual credit program that allows qualified high school students to earn college level credits through a partnership between SAU Tech and local school districts. Courses are taught either at the high school by approved instructors or on SAU Tech’s campus as part of our Career Academy. Some students may even be bused daily to attend college courses during their regular school schedule.

Classes include both career-technical programs and college transfer courses, giving students a range of academic and professional pathways to explore.

We also welcome homeschooled students to take part in Rocket High through concurrent credit options. Contact us at lwilliam@sautech.edu to learn more!

How Rocket High Works

  • College courses are taught by high school teachers approved by SAU Tech or by college faculty.
  • Curriculum, assignments, and testing align closely with SAU Tech’s on-campus standards.
  • Available courses vary by school depending on the qualifications of the instructors.
  • Students must complete the Application for Admission and Registration Packet to enroll.
  • Placement scores (ACT, Accuplacer, SAT, etc.) are required for concurrent courses. SAU Tech offers a Free Accuplacer Day annually at participating high schools.

Learn About Your Pathway

Whether you're aiming to transfer to a four-year university or enter the workforce with job-ready skills, SAU Tech’s Rocket High Program offers two distinct pathways designed to meet your goals. Students can earn college credit toward associate degrees or certifications while still in high school. Our Transfer Pathway supports students who want to pursue a university degree, while the Career Technical Pathway prepares students for in-demand trades and careers through hands-on training. Both pathways offer scholarship opportunities and are open to homeschooled students. Connect with your high school counselor or contact our Rocket High office to learn more about where Rocket High can take you.

Rocket High Transfer Pathway

SAU Tech’s Rocket High Program allows high school students to earn college credit that applies directly toward the first two years of a college degree. Whether you plan to stay at SAU Tech or transfer to a four-year university, this pathway sets you up for academic success.

SAU Tech also offers scholarships for high school graduates entering college. Homeschooled students are also eligible for the Rocket High Transfer Pathway.

Rocket High Career Technical Pathway

The Career Technical Pathway gives high school students a jump-start on job training through certificate and degree programs. These hands-on courses are available through the SAU Tech Career Academy, located both on SAU Tech’s campus and at Magnolia High School.

Career technical students may also be eligible for SAU Tech scholarships after high school graduation. Speak with your high school counselor to learn more and complete the necessary applications.

Rocket High Is Perfect
For Homeschooled Students

Homeschool students can easily take concurrent credit for half the cost of what is normally charged for an SAU Tech college course. These students find the transition from taking Rocket High courses to becoming full-time college students at SAU Tech to be a seamless experience. Listen to scholars Ryleigh Doss and Connor McMurry talk about their transition from homeschool to SAU Tech.
