Arkansas Career Pathways at SAU Tech

A State Educational & Financial Assistance Program

If you're a parent looking to gain new skills, advance your education, or start a career, but face financial or logistical barriers—Arkansas Career Pathways at SAU Tech is here to help. This program offers free career training and college courses for qualifying students, along with support services like childcare, transportation assistance, and job placement.

What is Arkansas Career Pathways?

The Career Pathways Initiative (CPI) is a state-funded program that helps low-income parents earn a college credential and find sustainable employment. At SAU Tech, we go beyond the classroom to support your personal, academic, and career goals.

Requirements

To qualify for the Arkansas Career Pathways program, you must meet one or more of the following:

  • Have a child under the age of 21 living with you
  • Be currently receiving or have previously received TEA (Transitional Employment Assistance)
  • Be receiving SNAP (food stamps) or Medicaid
  • Have a household income below 250% of the federal poverty level (approx. $43,000 for a family of three)

To complete your application, you’ll need to submit:

  • Valid driver’s license or state ID
  • Social Security cards for you and your child(ren)
  • Birth certificate(s) for your child(ren)
  • Most recent IRS tax return or 60 days of pay stubs
  • Completed employability forms (provided in the Career Pathways packet)

EdPays Incentive Program

Incentive Type Amount
New Enrollment $100
Progression $300/semester (up to $600)
Program Completion $500
Non-Credit Program $500 (flat)

EdPays Eligibility

  • Household income below 150% of the poverty level (e.g., $32,940 for a family of 3)
  • Must have a child under 21 living with you
  • Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours or an approved non-credit program
  • Maintain 2.0 GPA for credit programs or satisfactory progress in non-credit
