SAU Tech Multimedia
Website Technologies, Projects, Credits & Respect
The current version of SAU Tech's new Multimedia website was a labor of passion within the department. It will be a work in progress, as most websites should be. Our hope is to involve all Multimedia students in the evolution of the site (layout, content and marketing) -- let's call it a "Learning Lab".
Shown below are various lists containing technologies employed within the site, individual thanks & personal respect as-well-as Instructor comments. Extensive research has been accomplished and documentation generated to ensure that the appropriate licenses and/or rights have been observed where applicable. Please contact our department should fact dictate otherwise and we will immediately rectify the situation. We hope that we haven't missed anyone! Credit and Respect are two things that we endear to in Multimedia!

STUDENT PROJECTS INVOLVING THIS WEBSITE
Each semester, we involve our Multimedia students in a department website project. As previously mentioned, our site is also a learning lab for our students. We intentionally introduce issues that the students must analyze, develop possible solutions for and pass academic evaluation on. We do this within reason as we don't need the entire site or some important content area to break or become unavailable.
Students in the Spring 2007 term will be taking every page on the site and running it through W3C Markup and CSS Validation services as-well-as using other analysis tools. Students will be required to document findings and make recommendations based on those findings. Grading for this project will be based on their analysis and the recommended solution to be applied. Key elements are coding conventions, usability and accessibility, correct DOCTYPE declarations and report preparation. Beyond the physical project, students will also learn that just because a page validates, it may in fact contain other compliance issues.
