The Criminal Justice Program will assist students in discovering how the law affects their lives and make connections between the development of laws and societal and individual values. Students will learn how individuals use community resources such as local police, local bar associations and other legal and public safety agencies. Students will learn the duties of police and public security officers, including patrol and investigative activities, traffic control, crowd control, witness interviewing, evidence collection and management, basic crime prevention methods, operation and maintenance of weapons and equipment, report preparation, public relations and other routine criminal justice and law enforcement responsibilities. Concurrent College Credit Earned at SAU Tech: CJ1004 - Introduction to Criminal Justice CJ2014 - Survey of Criminal Investigation CJ1014 - Basic Patrol Procedures CJ2024- Current Issues in Criminal Justice Students completing the sequence of Concurrent College Credit will earn the Certificate of Proficiency in Criminal Justice. Concurrent courses also apply to the Associate of Professional Studies Degree at SAU Tech and may be transferred to the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice at SAU. |
