CAREER SERVICES MISSION

The Career Services Center was established to provide comprehensive career planning and placement services to current and prospective students of SAU Tech. Implementing a recruitment plan emphasizing career and technical opportunities; extensive career assessment, planning and advisement services; and establishing opportunities through relationships developed with industry for job placement provides the framework to support economic development in Southern Arkansas and student success.

ADVISEMENT

The Career Services Center provides advisement to students in the technical program areas. Students may call 870-574-4527 to schedule an appointment for advising. Walk-in advisement is still accessible during the planned registration days. Students can also register on-line through CampusConnect. Technical Student Advisement: ALETA, Fire Science, Environmental Science, General Technology, Computer Information Technology, Office Systems Technology, Aviation Technology, and Industrial Technology

CAREER COUNSELING

Career counseling services provide students the opportunity to assess current career goals, make workforce transitions, or clarify career interests. Assessment and career counseling services are offered utilizing a variety of strategies. Computerized and on-line career interest assessments, resume and cover letter writing programs, and paper / pencil assessments are all available. As you progress in your educational studies, visit the Career Services Center to prepare a resume, and learn and practice interviewing skills. The Career Services Center will also assist you in searching for available positions and applying for jobs or job advancement that is of interest to you.

SAU TECH CAREER CONNECTIONS

SAU Tech Career Connections is a Placement System that allows a connection to be made between students and employers. Students can register on-line and post a resume, cover letter, and portfolio that can be accessed by employers. Students also have the ability to search current positions and apply for positions of interest on-line.

BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY TRAINING

Training is an essential component of workforce development. SAU Tech is committed to assisting local business and industries achieve a high level of success through workforce development. Training assessments can be developed for immediate and long-range organizational development, and training can be customized to the specific needs of an organization. We provide training on and off-site, at convenient times for the organization and employee.  The sessions incorporate dynamic presentation and hands on training activities that are geared toward the adult learner with varied learning styles.
