SAU TECH CAREER ACADEMY RADIO/TELEVISION PRODUCTION

 

The Radio & Television Broadcasting Class at the SAU Tech Career Academy offers a wide range of innovative, creative, hands-on experiences in radio and tv broadcasting. Imagine attending the state's premiere multimedia educational program and starting today earning credits towards your associate degree at SAU Tech!

As if it couldn't get any better, students will also be a part of our Regional Television Training Center. KATV, KARK and KTHV in Little Rock as well as KSLA and KTBS in Shreveport sponsor the center. The center will focus on the skills that are most needed for actual television jobs in our region. The Radio & Television Broadcasting Class is the ticket to a future full of creativity and excitement.

Students get hands-on experience operating radio station KC-89!

Core courses defined by the Department of Workforce Education:

Radio & TV Broadcasting I: This course is designed to give practical knowledge in preparation for the pursuit of a career in broadcasting.


Radio & TV Broadcasting II - Radio: This courseis designed to give practical knowledge in preparation for the pursuit of a career in radio broadcasting.


Radio & TV Broadcasting II - TV: This course is designed to provide a fundamental understanding of production principles and experience with the video camera, lighting instruments and techniques, microphones, script creation and basic editing. Students will perform assignments on-camera as well as studio and control room duties. Students will learn program development, field production and job skills.


Concurrent College Credit Earned at SAU Tech:

1st Year Students Fall Semester

MM1133 Digital Image Making

1st Year Students Spring Semester

MM1203 Field Production & Editing

2nd Year Students Spring Semester

MM1123 Digital Animation

Students completing the sequence of Concurrent College Credit courses earn the Certificate of Proficiency in Multimedia Broadcasting. Concurrent credit also applies to the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Multimedia Technology: Film & Video Emphasis.
