The Business & Industry Training program is the workforce training component of SAU Tech and exists to provide general and customized training for employers and economic development in the College’s four county service area of Calhoun, Columbia, Dallas, and Ouachita counties.
Courses and training can be specifically customized for a company's unique needs at a cost that is fair and reasonable by utilizing training grants. Our programs are available to meet the growing need of the workforce. B & I staff is available to provide free initial consultation upon request to ascertain need, scope and location of all training services. We can provide you qualified, professional trainers with business and industrial experience to meet your training needs.
Program Services
Courses are offered on a customized or scheduled basis for specific business needs and offered at the time and location that the company requests.
Our business and industry training assists the corporate community as they compete in local and global economies. Workforce training will show a return on company investment and an economic return to the community. We provide the workforce with training in current skills necessary for both managers and hourly workers to develop high performance organizations.
Continuing Education Units are available for qualified training programs and are issued promptly to individual participants. Records of participation, class content, date and location are kept for documentation and evaluation purposes.
Funding assistance for training services is available at a cost that is fair and reasonable utilizing training grants. Local proposals for funding can be developed and coordinated for eligible industries.
The B & I staff conduct initial discussions of need without charge. We have a wide array of services that will help your company be more productive and profitable. Training for your employees is arranged when and where you need it.
Avenues to credit courses are available through the College’s Academic Division. Referrals to SAU Tech’s Academic Departments have resulted in special credit course development. These courses can be taught on-site, on-campus, or through convenient distance learning models. Many training courses offered through Business & Industry Training can be converted to college credit and applied to one of several Technical degree programs offered by the College.
