Arkansas Fire Academy - Firefighter I & II Program
Firefighter I & II Field
Training Programs (Canadians and out-of-state personnel please consult information under Canadian / Out-of-State Students.)
Our Firefighter I and II Field Training Programs are designed for those Arkansas firefighters who are unable to attend the Arkansas Fire Academy's 7-week Firefighter Standards Program. These programs provide another means for firefighters to attain Firefighter I and II certification through the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and the National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (NPQS or ProBoard).
This program is called the firefighter track. There are 22 modules after completing the necessary modules. If the firefighter desires, will be eligible to test for FF I and II. Modules 1 - 17 are complete modules. Most of these are 16 hours in length. Module 17 is first responder and it is 40 hours in length. Modules 18 - 22 are in place to aid the firefighter that already has some parts of classes such as flammable liquids/ or lp gas.
Firefighter I and II Field Training Program Pre-Requisites to Testing:
- Proof of completion of modules
- Hazardous Materials Awareness and Ops (IFSAC or ProBoard)
- CPR - Health Care Provider
The AFA Firefighter I and II Field Training Programs are coordinated through the Arkansas Fire Academy at Camden. To enroll in these programs contact:
